Tranquil Tails Volunteer Program

The Tranquil Tails Volunteer Program at Aurora Animal Care and Control is designed for individuals with a background in animal training and behavior. Volunteers in this program must hold one of the following credentials: Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed (CPDTKA), Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPACTP), Canine Training Center (CTC), or Animal Behavior College (ABCDT). These volunteers play a critical role in the training and enrichment of shelter animals, helping to address behavioral needs and prepare them for successful adoption. By working on specific training goals, Tranquil Tails Volunteers contribute to the animals’ mental and emotional well-being, ensuring they are well-prepared for their forever homes.
